Founded by Steve Witmer , his vision is to create a unique experience in the secondary fine art market and to celebrate the stories and relationships of each piece of work. We primarily focus on artists who have made an impact in the Lancaster art community and have built strong followings.
Steve has over 25 years of experience in the Lancaster art community. In 1987, he opened the Central Market Art Company. At that time there were only four other art galleries in downtown Lancaster. In 2005, he was a founder of Red Raven Art Company. He has watched many artists go from wondering if they would ever sell a piece of art to the point of not being able to keep up with the demand for their work. An avid collector himself, he is interested in the stories behind the art and has documented Lancaster artists and major art events in Lancaster for over 20 years.
Lisa Clemens, owner of Lynden Gallery in Elizabethtown, serves as a consultant to Lancaster Art Collectors. We are not alone in seeking Lisa out for her design eye and expertise — she provided design and arts consultation to the Lancaster Arts Hotel throughout the construction and installation of all furnishings. Lisa has also worked on projects ranging from new home construction, renovation of existing homes, and creating livable spaces in uncommon places. Committed to adaptive reuse, her own gallery and home is a former fire station replete with a custom frame shop. She also serves as gallery director for Lancaster Arts Hotel and recently graduated from Drexel with a MS in Interior Architecture + Design.
